Big News! We are at 25,000 members and growing in The Cookbook Junkies! I’ll have a special giveaway to post toward the end of March and will have a few new cookbook giveaways to share in the next week but today I have something else to share.
One of the things I love to do is hit the thrift stores and I always check the cookbook selection. I pick up copies of what I feel are great titles for friends, but over the last month, I’ve been collecting copies of some of my favorites that I’ve been lucky enough to find extras of – or were given an opportunity to receive from a friend who was giving them away (thanks Nancy for three titles!)
The books are as follows: Nancy Silverton’s Sandwich Book, Hello, Cupcake!, Mexico One Plate at a Time, Icebox Pies, Dessert Circus, Heart of the Artichoke, The Cake Bible, Chocolate, Home Baking, Buvette, Chocolate Cake and Whimsical Bake Shop. The links will take you to descriptions of the books. It’s almost 25 pounds of books! Well, almost.
The giveaway will be a bit different – if you are the winner – and there are titles you already have – you may choose to gift them to a local friend of yours – or you may tell me you already have The Cake Bible – so pick another winner for that title. Your choice.
Random Number Generator picked #40 Jennifer Essad.
GIVEAWAY: The giveaway is open to U.S. Addresses only as I’ll be mailing this heavy box (media mail). To enter leave a comment telling me what your all-time favorite cookbook is. A random winner will be chosen on March 15th. Good luck! Shares are not required, but appreciated.
Thanks for your support and love of cookbooks!

My favorite cookbook would be the one that was put together by my Grandma’s church. It is special for a couple of reasons. I grew up next to this church and knew several of the people that provided recipes. It contains recipes from my Grandma and other relatives, some still alive and some that have passed. Plus this church has since closed it doors. Every fall the church would do a soup and sandwich(plus desserts) lunch and dinner during harvest time. Since it was located across from the grain elevator the farmers got to have something to eat while waiting to unload their grain. Recipes for what were being served that day are in this cookbook.
